Biography
Frank Ventura is the Artistic Director and Founder of CAP21 (Collaborative Arts Project 21), a not-for-profit theatre development Company and Conservatory, which opened their new theatre on 28th Street with the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production of The Immigrant. Frank began his professional career performing in the national companies of Godspell and P.S Your Cat Is Dead. He became a Company Member of Chicago's Free Street Theatre, performing original works throughout the U.S. His regional acting credits include Julius Caesar at the Hartke, Major Barbara, Merton of the Movies, As You Like It, and The Rimers of Eldridge at the Goodman. Off-Broadway Credits include You Can Never Tell, All American Girl and Dickens-Reflections On a Carol. Off- Broadway Choreographic credits: Girl Crazy, Kiss Me Quick Before the Lava Reaches the Village and the No-Frills' Revue. He also served as Assistant Director of Annie Warbucks and Choreographer for Winchell's Broadway Workshop both directed by Martin Charnin. Director/ Choreographer: Wonderful Town, Godspell, Finian's Rainbow, Carousel, Working, Jaques Brel, Fiddler on the Roof, Gypsy, and Pippin. New Musicals: The Library (Alper/Knapp), One Tough Cookie (with Karen Mason), The Game (Cavallari/Powers/Topchik). BA in Drama from Catholic University, B.F.A. Acting and M.F.A. in Acting from the Goodman School of Drama. Frank currently serves as the President of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, and on the faculties of the Tisch Graduate Acting Program and the CAP21 Conservatory.
